Position Overview

We are looking for a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our leadership team. This role demands an exceptional technology leader with deep experience in IoT, AI, cloud architectures, and full-stack development, who has successfully led and scaled SaaS products and engineering teams. As CTO, you’ll architect our technology roadmap, drive innovation, and ensure we remain ahead of market trends while delivering enterprise-grade products with agility and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Vision & Strategy
• Define and execute the technology strategy aligned with PumpAcademy’s business vision.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies (IoT, AI/ML, cloud-native architectures) and identify opportunities for competitive differentiation.
• Product Architecture & Development
• Architect scalable, secure, and resilient SaaS platforms and IoT ecosystems.
• Oversee design and implementation of AI-driven analytics and real-time data processing capabilities.
• Lead decision-making around technology stacks, tools, and best practices.
• Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor cross-functional full-stack engineering teams across backend, frontend, DevOps, and AI/ML disciplines.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance engineering culture.
• Define hiring plans, career development pathways, and performance management for the technology teams.
• Product Delivery & Quality
• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of SaaS products and solutions.
• Establish best practices for secure coding, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud operations.
• Champion a DevSecOps mindset throughout the development lifecycle.
• Business Collaboration
• Work closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to align technology with business goals.
• Engage with key customers and partners to validate product-market fit and technology direction.
• Innovation & R&D
• Lead research into advanced technologies, rapid prototyping, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Evaluate buy vs build decisions for new technology capabilities.
• Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., data privacy, cybersecurity).
• Manage technology budgets and cost optimization, particularly in cloud environments.

Key Qualifications

• Experience:
• Minimum 12 years of experience in technology leadership roles in product companies.
• Proven success as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent senior technical leadership role.
• Experience designing and delivering scalable SaaS products with high availability.
• Technical Expertise:
• Deep knowledge of modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong background in IoT architectures, device connectivity, edge computing, and telemetry.
• Proficiency in AI/ML technologies, data pipelines, and big data ecosystems.
• Solid full-stack development background, with experience across modern web frameworks and backend services.
• Experience with microservices, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Education:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Experience working in CMMI Level 2 or Level 3 organizations, with:

• Structured software development processes.
• Strong documentation practices.
• Process compliance and quality standards.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
